While most of the Rovers and Rangers figured out that the sub camps were named after tulips, they had no idea of their true meaning. Here’s the best interpretations for each subcamp name!

  • Moonwalker:

”The tulip dances like Michael Jackson during the night!”             

“There are few trees around, so it looks like the moon surface”

  • Violet Bird :

“ The tulip petals look like feathers of a bird”

“ The tulip’s stem ressembles a bird’s beak, or the tulip looks like a blueberry! ”

  • Brilliant Star

“ This tulip must have the shape of a star”

“It shines at night”

  • Crystal Star

“ It’s white tulip, so white that it resembles a shining crystal”

  • Holland Queen

“It’s the tulip breed that royals grow in their gardens”

“It’s an orange tulip, the Dutch color”

  • Flaming Flag

“ It must be a tulip with petals so light, that they wave like a flag”

  • Starfighter

“It’s a blue tulip, like the surface of the sea, that sparkles when the sun hits it”

  • Pink innovation

“ There was no pink tulip at first, but then a pink one appeared, and they called it the pink innovation!”

  • Monarch Parrot

“This tulip looks like wings, because parrots have wings and monarch is a butterfly!”

Opposites Attract

This Roverway edition
will focus on the personal
development of the participating Rovers and Rangers as part of their role in society. The Roverway will provide the environment in which Rovers and Rangers can interchange experiences, knowledge and ideas. This exchange of experiences will be encouraged through the three educational objectives, which all centralize around society and intercultural learning.
