Roverway 2018 is organised by a lot of volunteers. We want to introduce you to our teams and show you some people behind the teams! The people presented on this website are all part of our Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is composed of an international team with different backgrounds and disciplines. Each member has their own speciality and is mixed with persons with a lot of experience and newcomers.

Project Directors 

Roverway 2018 has three project leaders: Eelco, Marlijn and Ivo. Together we aim to make this Roverway the best experience you have ever had, both for participants and for our volunteers who help plan the event. The theme, Opposites Attract, is noticeable in every aspect of the event, including the Planning Team. This is challenging and fun, and we invite you to join us in our philosophy for Roverway 2018. Ivo’s main responsibilities are to make sure everyone follows the correct timelines and procedures. Marlijn is chairing the Steering Committee, and Eelco is in charge of the international contacts with Scouting Nederland, WAGGGS and WOSM. Together, Marlijn and Eelco are responsible for the various teams within the Planning Team.

 Information Management

The Information Management Team is mainly responsible for the registration and administrative tasks during the planning stages of Roverway 2018 and the event itself. For example, we do our best to sign everyone up for the Path of their choice during Roverway 2018. And if you have any questions, we are here to help you find the answers!

Finance

The Finance Team is responsible for all financial business of Roverway 2018. We guard the budget, make sure the bills are paid, take care of the payment options during the event, and apply for funds and grants to financially support Roverway 2018. In close cooperation with Information Management, we help Contingents with their financial overview. The Finance Team supports all other teams in getting the best experience possible in exchange for your participant fee!

International Relations

The International Relations Team is the connection between Roverway 2018 and the national Contingents attending. We act as a liaison for Heads of Contingents, answering queries, passing on information and generally supporting the different Contingents. During the summer of 2018, we expect to welcome over 3000 participants from 30+ countries. The International Relations Team also promotes Roverway 2018 at International Events, such as national jamborees across Europe, conferences and workshops. Finally, we are responsible for hosting the VIPs during Roverway 2018 and providing them with a true Roverway experience.

Program - Attract

We are planning a wide range of exciting programme activities at the main camp. Team Program Attract will work closely with the Rover Representatives, asking for their feedback on the activities and programmes that we have in store for you. We are, for example, planning the life action game and the shows and entertainment on the main site, and we work with teams from all across Europe to organise cafes and food houses. Besides organising all the parties, we are also the team that takes care of everyone’s pastoral and spiritual needs.

Program-  Opposites

Team Program Opposites is organising a lot of exciting programme activities for you! We are responsible for the grand opening ceremony in The Hague, and are working hard to make all our great ideas come true. In addition, we are filling the different activity fields on central camp with awesome activities, both on water and on land, where you can join a workshop, meet new people, and perhaps learn more about yourself. There will also be an area that provides you with space to sit down and relax, but might still challenge you a bit as well. The Roverway Spirit team, which falls under Program Opposites, will make sure that the entire program is packed with a great Rovers and Rangers themed atmosphere.

Program - Paths

Team Path is currently busy recruiting brand new Path Leaders, and providing them with information about organising a Path. Every team of Path Leaders is assigned a Path Coordinator, who contacts them and guides multiple teams in putting together an awesome Path. At the same time, we continuously provide all our Path Leaders with updated information and guidelines. Because the Paths form a large part of the Roverway 2018 experience, we are working together with our Path Leaders to make them the best you can wish for!

Human Resources

An event like Roverway 2018 cannot exist without volunteers. The Human Resources Team works to make sure that we have the right person for the right job. We will provide everyone on the team with a role that suits them and challenges them. So if you have a question about joining the Roverway 2018 preparations or the event itself as a volunteer, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Marketing and Communication 

As you may have guessed, this team is responsible for all marketing and communication materials distributed by Roverway 2018, but we do so much more! We are in charge of the official Roverway 2018 design, social media channels, website, press kits and so on. Our goal is to get Rangers and Rovers enthusiastic about joining Roverway 2018 and provide them with the right information as soon as possible.  Service Main Camp 

The Services Team Main Camp is in charge of all facilities you may need or expect during your time at the main camp. Think about everything from toilets and showers to lighting and sound systems, including programme tents, tables, benches and of course a great stage for all the parties! You name it, we make sure it is there!

Services The Hague

Team Services The Hague is taking care of all the services that are needed during the start of Roverway 2018, which we will do in close cooperation with Team Services - Main Camp. As you know, we will spend the first night in The Hague and we will take care of all the facilities you might need.  In addition, we are also responsible for the logistics, to make sure you arrive safe and sound at the starting point of your Path, while avoiding long queues and possible confusion. Opposites Attract

This Roverway edition
will focus on the personal
development of the participating Rovers and Rangers as part of their role in society. The Roverway will provide the environment in which Rovers and Rangers can interchange experiences, knowledge and ideas. This exchange of experiences will be encouraged through the three educational objectives, which all centralize around society and intercultural learning.
